Camera 1 (Main camera)
Please, position yourself here at the "Alter Strom" (see first picture above):http://www.kettenkasten.de/webcam/picture.jpg
The camera takes a picture every minute (or somwtimes every other minute), the time of the picture can be seen in the picture (upper right corner).
Then you have to take a screenshot of the display for getting a picture for the log.
If you can not do it on the go and cannot find anybody who can do that for you - no problem, there is a list of the pictures taken by the camera. These are grouped by year, month and day, so all you have to do is noting day and time (local time on site, of course) and get your picture later.
If cou come here as a group of geocachers and are all on one picture, only one person has to append the picture to the log. The others should just write with whom they were here.
Camera 2 (Backup live camera) - Sorry, not available at the moment.
If the above camera is not working, there is an alternative cam (east of the "Ferienresidenz am Strom" - the camera is clearly visible). Look at the second picture above to get a hint of the area where you can be seen by this cam.This is the link to the camera: Am Strom 72.
This could be difficult when on the move, as this camera is demanding:
- The ability to make a screenshot and to save it as a picture
- High data transfer rate
- A little patience (about 1min) to wait for the establishment of the live broadcast
In cases that you are unable to take a picture, it can therefore be better to have someone else at home/office for taking the screenshot. This person will be rewarded with a real live video. So you can jump around and at home it will be seen live :)

Warnemünde war heute unser Gruppenausflugsziel und für mich war es tatsächlich der erste Besuch. Garniert wurde das Ganze noch mit einer Rarität - einem Webcamcache. Was will man mehr?

Endlich stand heute der Besuch an der Warnow auf dem Programm, um diesen wunderbaren und geschichtsträchtigen Webcam-Cache Am Strom (GCPDPZ) zu besuchen! Webcams sind heutzutage ja echte Raritäten in der Geocaching-Welt, weshalb die Vorfreude dementsprechend riesig war. Schon bei der Anreise nach Warnemünde lag diese typische Ostsee-Luft in der Nase – perfektes Caching-Wetter, frische Brise, Möwengeschrei und eine tolle Kulisse entlang der Promenade.
Die Zielkoordinaten waren schnell angesteuert, und der Blick wandere sofort zur Kamera. Nach einem kurzen Abgleich der Aktualisierungsintervalle der Webcam hieß es: Stellung beziehen, Timing abstimmen und abwarten!
Doch wie das Leben (und das Geocacher-Schicksal) manchmal so spielt: Modisch gesehen habe ich heute leider voll ins Schwarze getroffen – im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. In meinem komplett schwarzen Outfit habe ich mich vor Ort so perfekt in den Hintergrund eingefügt, dass ich auf dem offiziellen Webcambild eher wie ein stealthy 'Ninja-Cacher' im Schatten als wie ein fröhlicher Finder wirke. Man könnte fast meinen, ich hätte mich für eine verdeckte Ermittlung getarnt. Auf dem Live-Bild bin ich zwar genau zur richtigen Minute am richtigen Fleck, aber eben nur schwer als eindeutige Person auszumachen.
Da ein ordentlicher Geocacher aber nichts dem Zufall überlässt und die Logbedingungen ehrenhaft und zweifelsfrei erfüllen möchte, habe ich direkt vor Ort aufgerüstet und eine kleine Foto-Safari gestartet!
Um den Nachweis lückenlos zu erbringen, habe ich zusätzlich folgende Fotos geschossen und diesem Log angefügt:
Beweisfoto vor Ort: Ein klares Foto von mir an exakt der Stelle, auf die die Webcam gerichtet ist – diesmal gut beleuchtet und zweifelsfrei zu erkennen.
Namensnachweis: Ein Detailfoto mit meinem Cachenamen (geschrieben auf einem Zettel / meinem Smartphone) direkt an der Örtlichkeit mit dem markanten Hintergrund 'Am Strom'.
Es war ein herrlicher Ausflug an den Strom, der trotz der kleinen kleidungstechnischen Tarn-Panne wahnsinnig viel Spaß gemacht hat. Es ist immer wieder genial, diese alten virtuellen Caches zu besuchen und ein kleines Stück Geocaching-Geschichte zu loggen.
Ein riesiges Dankeschön an den Owner fürs Hegen und Pflegen dieses tollen Webcam-Caches und das Erhalten dieser echten Rarität über all die Jahre!

Zusammen mit der Muggelfamilie in Warnemünde. Vor zwei Jahren habe ich schon die Webcam aus Zeitgründen nicht aufsuchen können, diesmal musste es sein. Also ging ich heute abend alleine nochmal hin und ließ mich von Kamera 1 und Kamera 3 filmen. Auf die Bewegtbilder von Nummer 2 hatte ich keine Lust. Ich bin mit weißer Mütze, weißem Shirt und schwarzer Hose zu sehen. Danke für den altehrwürdigen seltenen Cache-Typ, ist, glaube ich, erst mein Dritter!
