Neudegg

Wir sind von keinen der angegebenen Punkte gestartet und auch eine Weile zwischen den Weingärten herumgeirrt bis wir am Ziel waren. Dort doch ein Weile herumgesucht bis wir an der so offensichtlichen Stelle doch nachgeschaut haben. Und da war er dann. Listiges Versteck. TFTC.

Wir begannen unsere Suche von Ottenthal aus und hatten kurz vor dem "Ziel" Probleme mit dem GPS . Aber nach einer kurzen Pause und einigen hin- u. her probieren gelang es uns doch noch das Gerät in Gang zu setzen. Dann fanden wir den Cache relativ schnell. Ich kenne zwar die Gegend, aber in die "Wildnis" bin ich noch nie vorgedrungen. Sehr schön dort und auch das Wetter hat mitgespielt! War unser aller erster Cache und nach diesem Erfolgserlebnis hat uns nun auch das "Fieber" gepackt!

Zuerst bin ich planlos in der Gegend herumgestanden und hatte keine Ahnung wo ich da suchen soll. Dann habe ich mich an ein Log eines Vorfinders erinnert und der Cache war mein. Sehr "unnatürliches" Versteck

Da die Gewitterwolken schon sehr bedrohlich aussahen, haben wir uns entschlossen direkt in Neudegg zu parken. Von dort war es nur mehr eine sehr kurze Wanderung bis wir den Cache erreichten und praktisch sofort entdeckten.
Vielen Dank an The Plank für diesen Ausflug in eine sehr schöne Gegend.

Wir wurden recht schnell fündig. Die Illy-Dose ist in einem schlechten Zustand, vielleicht kann man das ja reklamieren. Wetterfest sind die Dinger anscheinend nicht so besonders und das bei dem Preis. Der Inhalt war leider ziemlich durchnässt, so das wir nichts getauscht haben.

[Starting with one of theplank's caches,I also finished ths weekend with one. As 5th cache found today, of 12 caches within two days, I visited Neudegg as part of my tdatce (two-days-all-time-caching-event). The small thunderstorm in the west has gained a lot of company, now a sole horizonwide storm front ornated with lightnings slowly made its way to the east. At 1st I parked my cachemobile at the mentioned place, but after climbing the 1st hill and seeing the just used road again, I reparked closer by.

So a better parking place is close to N 48° 28.932' / E 15° 53,334', for those lamers walking as little as possible, like me :).

The cache was found, but it is in bad condition, the logbook is dripping wet, maybe due to condensed water.

Cause of the approaching rain drying it was out of question, I just logged at 6:40 p.m. and repacked it. It was lying in almost clear view, so I] pnzbhsyntrq vg jvgu n ohapu bs qel oenapurf[ .

We passed by in the evenening on our way to the woodquarter.
Found the vinyard and the scarecrow after a short walk,but not the cache. After 4o minutes we wanted to give up when
we found some old vinyard-sticks. So after all the first Neudegger nettle-massacre took place and the cache was visible at the end.
The logbook is complete wet, was not easy to write in it.

The problem with Illy-Boxes is that they are not weatherproof. The log is soaked and moulding. The box is very rusty. Tried to dry it, but I did not have the time to let everything dry in the sun.
Nice corner, I came from Neudegg, down a slope covered with Robinia-Tress (ouch).
