...planned and realized by BeVeMa & Dunja

This multicache can either be started at Eisenstadt or from direction of Sonnenberg, so it can be combined with Door to Summer II - Sonnenberg. Stage 1 is recommended as starting point in Eisenstadt (also parking lots available), when coming from Sonnenberg the reverse order (begin stage 6, end stage 1) is advised.

Stage 1 Gloriette
N 47° 51.177
E 16° 30.543

High above the city thrones this impressive building. During fair weather you can surely see the Neusiedler See. Watch the windows and the door of the lowest floor.
Additional info : because the windows are sometimes hidden by sunshades: there are two windows.
The sum of all glass segments of circles from door and windows results in A.
With the duration of the construction (2nd date minus 1st date) under Prince Nicolaus II of Esterhazy you get B.
Additional info: for incomprehensible reasons the info-plate is removed. As alternative take the amount of round pillars divided by 2 as B.

Stage 2 Skywards / Dem Himmel entgegen
N 47° 51.249
E 16° 30.310

You are on sanctified floor. Or should I say "floors"?
A gigantic observation tower could be found here, it seems it has really gone skywards, leaving only four concrete quadrates.
The new observation tower is already erected and open to the public, better questions are still under construction.
So just use 6 as value for C and 56 as value for D.

Very nearby reside the remains made-of-stone of a structure, and a bench rests upon them. How many steps can you see ? The number of steps is E.

Stage 3 Spiritual again / Und wieder spirituell
N 47° 51.712
E 16° 29.872

At the base of the artefact a letter and a bad readable number are engraved in stone. Convert the letter into a number (A=1, B=2,...) and you get F.

Stage 4 Old Stone / Alter Stein
N 47° 52.088
E 16° 29.791

This item stands here for a very long time, Paul and Adam are named here.
In the date of a year an arabic digit is present twice, take one of the twins as G.

Stage 5 Hunting Season / Jagdzeit
N 47° 52.200
E 16° 30.057

Many years ago a tavern called "Zum Schoenen Jaeger" (To The Beautiful Hunter) has been located here. Almost nothing of it is visible nowadays, only a stonewalled cellar is remaining. At the turnoff to the meadow you find some very big identical-looking stones, much bigger than boundary stones. The number of stones is H.

Stage 6 Not Catholic / Nicht katholisch
N 47° 52.142
E 16° 29.025

A monumental hollow tree can be found here. Within a distance of 30 metres many signposts can be found here (all from the 'Österreichischen Touristenklub' or a 'Sektion' of them). As the signposts seem to disappear since August 2010, take the fixed value J=8.
In the east of the tree you find a three-sided prism made of stone, a letter on each side, a date of year on top. Convert the letters into numbers (A=1, B=2,...), add the numbers to the date of year, this results in K.
The monumental tree has tumbled down and the three-sided prism has also been destroyed, in the meantime please use 2027 as K.

Stage 7 Closing in / Nahe dem Ziel

N 47° N7'...N7 = 49.623 + ((B*D + F + K) / 1000)
E 16° E7'...E7 = 28.726 + ((A*C*E + G*H*J) / 1000)

Here you have to obey an order, so no forest fire arises. The digit written in this order is L.

Search the cache at

N 47° N8'...N8 = N7 + ((A+G+L) * L / 1000)
E 16° E8'...E8 = E7 + (((B+E+J) * L - 6 ) / 1000)

The cache is a deep-freeze box (size 23 x 13 x 5 cm ) and initially contained:

cachenote (please do not remove)
logbook (please do not remove)
pencil and sharpener (please do not remove)
ballpoint (please do not remove)
smileys ball
sunflower stickers
comiccat stickers
christmas stamps
red devil photo-holder

Found 27 December 2012 Eagle_ found the geocache

OUT: Golfball, Ei, Clownmaske, Schlumpf (4 Kinder mit dabei)
IN: Pfeife, Feuerzeug, Schikartenhalter, Wäscheklammer

Thanx, Heinz

Found 11 March 2007 bagsj found the geocache

Found No. 1/7 of today's hike from Eisenstadt to Hornstein.

Today we finalized the round trip we started last week. Even with an offset of appr. 30m (probably a calculation error) we didn't search long to find the box. Laughing

Thnx!

OUT: coin, marble
IN: egg-stamp, blinking clown-nose

Note 04 March 2007 bagsj wrote a note

Coming from "Seaview" we did the stages in the reverse order. Arriving at stage 1 it was already too late to go for stage 7 with the junior members of the team, but we will come back to finalize the tour asap.

Thnx for the occasion to visit Stage 1 to 6 and the places between them. Wink

Found 02 January 2005 M.W. found the geocache

The first hike of the new year in order to find a cache.
Due to the given exact coordinates everything went (almost too) smoothly until we arrived at st. 6, where certain circumstances accumulated to a desastrous situation which is no so untypical in geocaching:
Upcoming darkness, upcoming rain/snowfall,temperature sunk near to zero, a giant formula was to calculate with frozen fingers on a dissolving printout using a ballpen which went on strike from moisture and frostiness......
And a unbelievable result which wanted to send us far away to an incredible place .
After 45min and some checks and rechecks we gave up and decided to search the next stage trusting our instinct.
Lucky we were to find a matching place after a walk through the dark forrest, but due to the giant formula it was not possible to recheck our result, using the measured coordinates.
So we used a telephone joker to figure out our mistake - a wrong value for A the first question at the first stage and a last monstercalculation leaded us to the cache, which was found in best condition.

In: manicure set
Out: sunflower-sticker, TB Tour of europe.

Thx for the nice (and not easy to find) cache, M&W
