While an approaching to Runway 1, at Wels Airport
flight GC666 crashed due to an double engine failure rigth after passing Fischlham.
The crew used parachutes to save their lifes.
Eyewitnesses noticed a explosion which caused the loss of rear steering gear and the cargo compartment.
Seconds later the plane crashed into a near wood.
Nobody was seriosly injured but the valuable cargo remains lost. The CVR recorded the follwing: RDO - Radio transmission from accident aircraft Voice identified as Captain
LTC - Local Tower Control
CAM - Cockpit area microphone RDO: Wels Tower, GC666, we have an emergency, number 1 and number 2 engine inoperative.
The plane is not controllable at all. LTC: GC666, roger - tell me your actual position. RDO: Tower, I can see an small island below us.
Our position is North 48 degrees [Sound of an Altitude alarm]...17.1 seconds East 013 degrees [Sound of an Altitude alarm]...1.5 seconds. CMA: [Sound of an explosion] LTC: GC666, You're allright ?

Start with your rescue team at this point: N48° 08.321' E13° 59.583'
Estimate 20min to reach the target area.
Try to find the lost cargo expecially the 1,5l plastic box with the logbook. Good Luck !

Heute bei strahlend schönen Wetter begab sich das Bergungsteam auf die Suche nach der "Black-Box". Nach kurzer Suche konnte die Box gefunden und analysiert werden 
.

beim 2. Versuch sofort gefunden, war teilweise eine kleine Kletterpartie, da sind wir mit den kids ganz schön ins schwitzen gekommen.

#156;haben zur abgestürzten Maschine vordringen konnen... auf dem Weg dorthin viele Wrackteile gesichtet...Aufprall muss sehr heftig gewesen sein...Besatzung aber scheinbar schon gerettet...keiner mehr vor Ort

Nach der erfolgreichen Weltraumrettungsaktion wurde unser Team wieder auf die Erde zurückgeordert zur Mission "LOST"
Unterwegs dorthin Wrackteile gefunden. Dann kämpften wir uns durch den "verschneiten Dschungel". Schnell gefunden!

Ein neuer Spezialauftrag (geheime Mission): Wichtigen Passagier bergen und in Sicherheit bringen! ------

Unserem Spezialkommando gelang es in das unwirtliche Gebiet vorzudringen. Kein Lebenszeichen vorhanden. Bei Einruch der Dunkelheit erreicht ein leises Krächzen die Ohren der Specials. Es war dies TB American Pride, der sich mit letzter Kraft gegen die bittere Kälte wehrte. AP befindet sich bereits wieder wohlauf, und wird bald wieder ausfliegen!

----Top Secret: Wie uns AP vertraulich mitteilte gibt es eine 'Operation Wels': Ein Behälter mit vertraulichen Dingen soll im Raume Wels deponiert worden sein. Werden dem nachgehen, und gegebenenfalls berichten..

Although there is no runway 1 in LOLW (see attached Jeppesen chart) , we could reconstruct the flight track of GC 666 and could find the lost cargo!

Research and rescue report:
At first we found the voice-recorder - detailed analyses of the last radio transmission
resulted in very precise coordinates. To find the lost cargo expecially the 1,5l plastic box
was a usual handwork - we recognized the necessity of more rescue teams - geocachers come on.
Thank you to Red Hunters - another nice cache again.
