Castell
de
Bellver is a Gothic fortification
built by order of King Jaume II
of Mallorca between 1300 and
1311, under the supervision of Ponc Descoll.
Five rooms on the ground floor are devoted to the
Museu d´Historia de la Ciutat, which exhibits pieces proceeding from
archaeological digs and the collection of Cardinal
Despuig.
Even it is in the centre of Palma, it is a quite and green
place with a scenic view and interesting things to discover.
A visit of the castell is highly
recommended, which costs you a fee of about 2 €. But it is up
to you, for the cache it isn´t necessary to enter the castle.
This cache will guide you to the nearby Parc de Bellver.
By car follow the purple signs “Castell
de Bellver” to waypoint VIAC. Parking
is possible close to stage 1 and 2 free of charge. By foot you can
take stairs starting at VIAP through the parc. Take a look to the opening hours (picture
below). It´s also possible to visit this place during your City
Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off Tour of Palma de Mallorca.

Thank you very much
for this nice cache. After all the micro cache boxes it was great to
find that big box. Unfortunately the box is broken and so the content
may get wet.

Abgesehen von einem kleinen Rechenfehler (Achtung: Genauen Bildausschnitt beachten!) haben wir den Cache dann doch prima gefunden und uns dabei gleich auch noch mit einem "Profi" austauschen koennen. Danke themailer!

Angema hat am 26.01.2008 um 17.00 Uhr den Cache gefunden.
Es war ein schöner Spaziergang beim Castillo, es waren heute kaum muggels unterwegs.
In= Reiselogbuch "Don Alonso" von cotomi. Out= nothing.
Gute reise für das logbuch. Hat mir spass gemacht. Vielen Dank und Tschüss.

On our last day on the isle we had to wait for the airoplane and decided to spend our free time over Palma. We entered the Castell and do not had to pay any fee. Thanks for this really nice cache on a beautifull location. After the hunt we spend 2 hours here to relax a little.

Wie oft haben wir das Castell gesehen, wenn wir mit dem Segelschiff im Hafen von Palma lagen. Heute sind wir dank des Caches auch mal nach oben gekommen.
Die Stationen waren alle gut zu finden, der Cache konnte sich auch nicht lange verstecken.

Im Rahmen des Mallorca-Events war ich im Team mit Ralf_SG, Doc_W, Snowdream und den Bergziegen unterwegs. Dabei haben wir auch diesen schnen Cache besucht.
1:44 pm - Sehr schickes Castell. Wir haben alles gut gefunden und nach kurzem Marsch hielten wir den Cache in den Haenden.

While the wife went shopping, I had a little time for caching. Here, everything was easy to find (although without a printer counting the windows of the tower were not so easy), and at sunset the view was great. Due to the mentioned timing constraints I did not visit the castell, but I'll be back.
