Description    English  ·  Svenska

I wanted to publish a Jasmer Challenge on geocaching.com. The requirements for this: "For every month since geocaching started in May 2000, find at least one cache that was hidden that month. The reviewer told me that HQ didn't want that: one such Challenge in Sweden is enough. I though that perhaps Americans don't understand how long Sweden is, so I contacted them and explained: driving from Abisko to Ystad is more or less twice the distance as driving from Seattle to LA. And I asked them again why and whether it was OK to change the Challenge into just 2000 and 2001. They asnwered me:

  • "One Jasmer Challenge i Sweden is enough"

I asked them according to which guide-line they rejected the Challenge, but they didn't answer, they just closed my case. I opened a new one and I asked them once again. I also repeated the request to change the Challenge into 2000 and 2001. They just said:

  • A CO should be able to accept that the Challenge isn't publishable
  • I should follow the guide- lines.

I reacted again that they hadn't answered my question about the adjusted Challenge (which shows that I can accept btw), but they just closed my case again. Several times after that I responded, stating that I am a paying member, but they had decided to ignore my request. I also tried to change the (premium member only) Challenge into one requiring to have filled the distance table, but the reviewer saw several other problems with that too.

I gave up, I just got frustrated and as a result I found opencaching.

Hence this cache: this one was supposed to be the Jasmer Challenge cache, but geocaching.com "motivated" me into publishing this as a cache on opencaching.

Temporarily not available 06 November 2016 marcelteun has disabled the cache

I hid this cache half a year ago (after archiving another cache I've had there. I was pretty sure it was still there, and when I checked, I noticed that some people put up a sign "private". People used to walk their dogs there. I will move the cache.
