Punktgenau ohne GPS

Das Rätsel wurde bereits vor einiger Zeit gelöst. Bei meiner heutigen Tour mit Tankred der Zweite in die Nähe gekommen, einen Abstecher gemacht und das Logbuch signiert.

Das Rätsel habe ich nicht ganz alleine gelöst 😇
Aber ein interessantes Thema, dass tu einem Mystery ja geradezu einlädt 🤣
Heute mit Wandervogel510 ins Zielgebiet gewandert und die Dose rasch gefunden 😃

Kann mich ja noch gut erinnern wie ich gen 2 Uhr morgens damals den [url=http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC1GWKD]NOL[/url] absolviert habe [:D].
Mit den Zeichen damals zwar nicht auseinandergesetzt - aber das kann man nachholen und sie adäquat anwenden [:D]. Muß ja sein...schließlich liegt ja eine OL-Hochburg (Henndorf) quasi ums Eck [:D].
Hier zuerstmal ein anderes Objekt gefunden... sieht interessant aus - aber dann ruckzuck den richtigen Punkt avisiert.

Well, as I had reported in a note this cache has provided me with an emotional roller coaster in its early phase. First, I have been looking forward to a new cache that allegedly would be of one of my favourite types. This hope had been based on a forum post AM told me about. Second, when the cache showed up and I realized that it involves yet another puzzle and one which I cannot solve within 2 minutes, I ended up disappointed. Third, my mood improved again when two half solutions nicely fitted together and AM and myself ended up with the correct coordinates. Fourth, my disappointment returned when I realized that it's a single stage cache and not of the type I had expected. Let me stress however that this is not the fault of the cache or its owner. I just was expecting something different.

In any case the idea behind the puzzle has some appeal. The symbols used have been known to me and I vividly recall how much I liked them when I came across them for the first time. Very compact and elegant and well suitable for my formal way of thinking. I sometimes helped people with understanding the symbols who knew much more than myself about the area where they are applied.

As this cache does not warrant a separate visit from Styria, I expected that it would take me a long time to visit this cache if ever at all. However, things changed. To my surprise AM suggested to me that we could go for the two caches around the Lainzer Tiergarten on the occasion of my visit to Vienna before Christmas. Originally she wanted to do the two caches in one run and when the trails are less muddy.

To cut a long story short, we ended up with visiting this cache today on the occasion of
the RuLaTier Mauer cache http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC5HGVE_rulatier-mauer?guid=6e77e0d9-622a-469e-a263-36ece01c143d . I had brought along the map and it nicely brought us to the cache - AM was the chief navigator and was faster in this terrain as usual. As it was already a bit late and we had yet to cover quite some distance to finish off the RuLaTier Mauer multi and then to walk to the nearest bus stop, I was especially grateful that the cache hideout was chosen such that it is obvious to geocachers. I hate Easter egg like searches for caches where on purpose the challenge is searching for a long time. The cache container and its contents are in good condition.

I enjoyed this cache very much, even though it was different than expected and I of course would enjoyed it even more if I had more stages. Like AM I'm looking forward to further caches along these lines and also to further multi caches of eagle! that invite for a nice, but technically easy hike/walk (aka cezanne-compatible). Sometimes I envy the cachers living in and around Vienna as the proportion of newly hidden caches that appeal to me is much higher there than in my home area where the numbers game and showcases for specially handicrafted containers dominate geocaching meanwhile.

Thank you very much for this nice cache. It's a pity that we did not meet at the Keksdosen event.

So, wenn das hier so üblich ist, dann oute ich mich halt auch als einer, dem der Checker wohlwollend zugenickt hat, nur mit dem klitzekleinen Unterschied, dass ich mittags bereits bei der Dose war... ([s]übrigens: warum ist denn die Note von cezanne verschwunden?[/s] edit: danke an cezanne für die Aufklärung!)

Von OL als Sport und Spiel habe ich zwar gehört, bzw. bereits desöfteren diese charakteristischen orange-weissen Marker im Wald gesehen - selbst gemacht habe ich es allerdings noch nie, was eigentlich komisch ist, denn ich laufe gern und viel - und da vor allem Trail, kenne mich mit Karte, Kompass, Krokis, etc. wirklich gut aus. Vielleicht finde ich ja irgendwann einmal zu so einem Schnupperbewerb - auf jeden Fall danke fürs Näherbringen dieser Sportart & das Doserl!

Auf der anderen Platform habe ich diesen schönen Cache mit folgendem Text geloggt:

Mit der Begeisterung für seinen Sport versucht Eagle! ja schon länger mich anzustecken.
Hier ist es ihm eindeutig gelungen, etwas von der Faszination vom OL weiter zu geben. Die Codierung hier finde ich ausgesprochen genial, auch die Ergebnisse des Geocheckers hier sind besonders trickreich.
Das ich orientierungsmäßig mit den routinierten Läufern nicht ganz so mit halten kann hat mir hier noch die Entdeckung einer Feuersalamander - Forschungsstation beschert.
Die Anreise mit dem MTB war heute überhaupt nur beschränkt effizient - 30 Minuten Radfahren und 30 Minuten putzen;-)
Als nächstes kommt dann der 2. Teil vom RuLaTier dran, da gibt es dann wenigstens 1 h Radfahren / 30 min putzen.
