Mefjordvær plastic cleanup - Bonus for Cleaning

The ocean plastic pollution has become a big problem. Trash in nature is a general problem. But plastic waste lasts way more then a lifetime. It stays for decades or centuries, does not decompose in a natural way and finally remains as microplastic and nanoplastic. And then.... it returns in out food chain. Enjoy your meal!

Scientists from NORCE Norwegian Research Centre in Bergen analysed parts of the shoreline of Norway with the help of aerial photographs. And they visited several places at the coast. They found tons of plastic waste at over 600 bays and shores.

People have stopped watching. They take action since years. Volunteers organise plastic cleanups.

Years ago I launched the BFC-BONUS FOR CLEANING on the Opencaching.de platform, so that mindful nature lovers and geocachers can get a bonus point as a small reward for their activity.

And I want - not just as proof - that you post a photo of the collected garbage here so that everyone can see the waste that was in the nature. As a reminder and warning to everyone who handles plastic waste careless.


Requirement for logging:

Collect the garbage during your hike or cleanup meeting, take a photo of the filled trash bag(s) on site with your navigation device, where you can see the coordinates, and post it in the log.
