Lueg

The Lueg hill has a beautiful and well-frequented viewpoint at the top, along with a barbecue area and a few monuments. The largest one here is the cavalry monument, which was inaugurated on October 8, 1921 with 20k visitors and 2k cavalrymen. It commemorates the 54 (!) Bernese cavalrymen who died in the First World War, mainly due to the Spanish flu (which at times claimed up to 35 people of the Swiss army per day).
Until the 18th century, there was a watchtower on top. In case of danger, alarm was sounded with signal fires through a network of watchtowers.

Arrival

Various hiking and cycling routes lead to the Lueg. With bus 468 or MyBuxi you go to the stop "Lueg". There are a few parking spaces directly below (see waypoint).

NFC-Cache

This cache is an NFC cache. NFC stands for "Near Field Communication" and describes a radio technology over a very short distance (normally a few centimeters). At the coordinates, you will find an NFC tag instead of a can. This is a small sticker with a microchip and an antenna. Contact can be made with the tag using a device that supports NFC. Many current smartphones have the appropriate capability. In this case, the smartphone is brought close to the tag, the tag receives power from the smartphone and a short data exchange takes place.

With this NFC cache, you will find the log password stored on the NFC tag. As soon as you have this, you can log the cache online. You don't have to sign in on site. Also attach a personal photo from above on the Lueg to your online log.
