Several paths lead to the summit. Marked paths start at Rotmoos and Dürradmer, unmarked paths start in the Bärnbachvalley and in the upper Holzapfelvalley. There's one thing all those paths have in commom - they are long and lonely.

The fastest ascent begins at

on the logging road through the Bärnbachvalley (next to a wooden drainage-covering) and leads steeply via the Glatzen and the Tannstein to the summit (lonely, impressive 'Karst' landscape), it's marked by green dots and countless stone-pyramids.
The cache is hidden under a rock.
Ascents through the Bärnbachvalley can only be done between 1.7 and 14.10

Vom Bärnbachtal über den Glatzen und Tannstein zum Gipfel. Bären haben wir keine gesehen, aber jede Menge Gämsen. Den Weg haben wir immer wieder verloren, teilweise mit den Latschen gekämpft, aber die Richtung war ohnedies klar. Nach oben. Am Gipfel erblickten wir dann das erste Mal die Sonne an diesem Tag und beschlossen, den Weg über das Holzapfeltal und den Kräuterhals als Rückweg zu nehmen. Der Steig über den Grat zeigt stellenweise allerdings schon erhebliche Auflösungstendenzen. Nach 9 Stunden waren wir wieder beim Auto, wo ein Bad in der Salza jede Müdigkeit vertrieb. Nach langer wunderschöner Wanderung endlich den Gipfel erklommen. Was tut man nicht alles für einen FTF *sbg*
Ich nahm die Route von Rotmoos aus, weil das irgendwie am kürzesten aussah. Die meisten anderen Wanderer (erstaunlich viele) an diesem Tag schienen den Weg übers Hochplateau der Kräuterin zu nehmen.
Zum Auto kam ich mit dem letzten Licht zurück.
