Sömmerdaer Runde

Look for a nearby parking space if you need one for your car. The length of this walk is around 5 km and will take around 90 minutes. Apart from the last meters to the cache the way is wheelchair accessible. Find some necessary information during your walk along Gondelteich and city wall.

The Gondelteich, a small lake, is located approximately 150 m north of you. How many trees do you see on the island on the lake? = A

Now follow the old town wall north until you reach the 6th round tower (waypoint 'TURM6'). On the way collect all missing information.

Laying of the corner stone of the town wall's extension and reconstruction was on _ _ . _ B . _ _ _ _.

The tower of "Bonifatius" church was built in _ _ _ D.

The woad stone (Weidstein) was displayed for the first time in _ _ E F.

Now head to the water tower at N51° 10.GBC and E011° 0F.HD3. Even if the gate is closed (the property is now private) you can see a four-digit building number at the water tower. Double the checksum of that number and you'll get JK.

Head north-north-west to river Unstrut via reference point 'UNSTRT' and follow the river upstream. At the river bend you'll find a footbridge which is nowadays no longer accessible. Find out the GPS coordinates from the beginning of the footbridge. Now you're able to get the approximate final coordinates:
N = 51° 0I.EAJ
E = coordinates of the footbridge minus 00° 0.0(2*K)(2*J)

From there head approx. 25 meters east until the following is true: The cache won't get wet from above.

A hint for your way back to your cache mobile: Dog owners should follow the river Unstrut south until the next bridge and then walk over the meadow. Those who walk the way eastwards cross a small bridge (Stadtparkbrücke) and go over the market place back to their cache mobile.
