Waterloopbos

In Waterloopbos, several scale models were used to carry out water technical tests.

The "Delta Works" were planned and tested here, but also the ports of Lagos, Rotterdam, Bangkok, IJmuiden and Flushing. Wave machines were used to test the influence of waves on the planning.

Today, computers are used to carry out these tests, and the models are reclaimed by nature again.

There are several marked trails and a visitor center (see opening times here). The cache can also be logged when visitor center is closed, and the models are also continuously accessible.

Since 2016, Waterloopbos has the status of a "Rijksmonument".

All information required to log the cache can be found directly at the listing coordinates. However, it's worth to plan a 3-4 km walk to visit the models.

Hint for disabled cachers: one of the marked tracks is paved and suited for disabled persons.
