The search for this cache will allow you to take a 430m walk through a small wood and then reach the top of a small hill where you can admire a beautiful view of the Gola del Furlo State Nature Reserve which borders here.

Informations:

The Gola del Furlo State Natural Reserve is a protected area established by a decree of the Ministry of the Environment of 6 February 2001.

It covers 3,907 hectares and is managed by the provincial administration. The territory includes part of the mountain unions of the Alta Valle del Metauro and Catria and Nerone, as well as the former mountain community of Metauro, and the municipalities of Acqualagna, Cagli, Fermignano, Fossombrone and Urbino.

An important site for many endangered species. The Furlo nature reserve is a privileged location for observing the Golden Eagle, which has been nesting in the gorge since historical times. The presence of numerous species of birds of prey has credited an important naturalistic value for the Furlo park. Among the most famous we remember: the Golden Eagle, the Montagu's Harrier, the Peregrine Falcon and the Lanner Falcon. The recent return to the nesting of the Eagle Owl, index of the quality of the territory, is also of great importance. Other species of birds are the Alpine Swift, the Crag Martin, the Blue Rock Thrush and the Wallcreeper. Among the mammals, there are the Wolf, the Fallow Deer, the Roe Deer, the Wild Boar, the Crested Porcupine and the European Polecat. The presence of the European Wildcat is uncertain. Then there are also reptiles like the Four-lined Snake and the Vipera Aspis.

Among the flora, the Leopoldia Comosa, the St Bernard's lily, the Onosma and many others emerge from interest and rarity. In the cold slopes there are mesophilic woods, generally governed by a coppice, in which there is a rich presence of trees and shrubs: Downy Oak, Turkey Oak, Beech, Manna Ash, Common Hornbeam, European Hop-Hornbeam, Maple, Sorb Tree, Hawthorn, Juniper, Dog Rose and many others.
