History: On 10 December 1944 in San Donà di Piave, four partisans - Gustavo Badini, Bruno Balliana, Angelo Bonfante and Giuseppe Scardellato - were shot dead by the Black Brigades not far from the San Donà railway station. Gustavo Badini had distinguished himself in particular by organising partisan groups and supporting the persecuted. The executions took place during the transfer of prisoners to the German command in Villa Amelia. The perpetrators, members of the Black Brigades, were later prosecuted for these murders.
