Kunst in Perlach

This fountain was designed as traditional bavarian village fountain with the historic Fischbrunnen at the Marienplatz as a model. In a octagonal basin there is a column with four escapes. On the column there is a boar wich refers to the origin of the name Perlach as well as three clergymen who refer to the foundation of the village in the year 790.
THe basin is made of eight side parts, which alternate in word and images and tell the hostrical development of the village.

The scout section of Perlach carved this three to commemorate their 10^th anniversary. Every age group carved a symbol and painted it in the according colour.
The Wölflinge (cup scouts, 7 - 11 years, orange) carved a wolf head, the Jungpfadfinder (scouts, 11 - 14 years, blue) are represented by a campfire and two way signs, the Pfadfinder (explorer, 14 - 16 years, green) eternalised themselves with a green man from Eastern Germany traffic lights and their motto "Wagt es!" (venture it) and the Rover (explorer, 17 - 21 years, red) with a globe and their motto "unterwegs". (on the way)
Above all there is the stylised lilly of the "Deutsche Pfadfinderschaft Sankt Georg".

In the grass in front of the houses there is this lone and helpless foal. The artist knew how to depict a pup with its short forehead and and slim legs. The ears are alert and upright; you can imagine how the foal examines the approaching stranger, but it's not yet panicing, the mare seems still close!

Right next to the bridge, there is this bronze stroller looking concentrated in the creek. He is talking with a small bronze fish which is jumping out of the water. (The fish is lost)
This sculpture addresses a social issue, which became aparent in the 80ies, as the public became more and more interested in marginal groups. The artist refers to elder people and their increasing isolation.
