Las Pilas

If you are lucky you will see some carare frogs and “titis”, small monkeys, who live in this magnificant forest.

How to get there?
Turn north on N9 31.537 W84 20.846 go on for around 12.5 km
On N9 36.029 W84 19.312 you turn left.
Go on to N9 36.744 W84 19.417. Now turn left again on a bad gravel road and follow for another 120 m. Now you can park your cachemobil at N9 36.747 W84 19.480.

Las Pilas are on private property. The owner Omar and his nice family are living next. He is looking for the track and will help you if necessary (he only speaks spanish).

Now follow the track through a beautiful finka, river and rainforest.
Have a cold and refreshing swim in the pilas. You also can climb up to the 2nd and 3rd pilas and jump in (no worries it is about 4 m deep). Don’t jump in the bottom pila, it is just 1 m deep.

On the way back you can visit the finka of Jolly Kofler (above the carpark), he is an austrian globetrotter, who lives now in costa rica. Have a cup of coffee with him and his lovely family. They speak Spanish, English and German very well and can tell you some interesting facts about the country and the people living there. He is also looking for the cache.
