Description
Pythagoras (Greek: Πυθαγόρας, Pythagoras) (born around 572 BC on Samos or in Sidon (for the sake of the cache we omit this thread), died ca. 497 BC in Metapont) - Greek mathematician, philosopher, mystic associated with the famous mathematical theorem named after him. According to most descriptions, Pythagoras lived about 80 years, although the report by an anonymous author states that he lived for 104 years. According to one version, he died in Metapont at the home of Milo wrestler, saved from the Crotone pogrom, while the other - he did not survive the revolt. According to many sources, his wife was Teano, with whom he had two sons: Telanges and Menezarch.
Mathematical achievements include:
proof that the sum of the triangle angles is equal to two right angles,
entering the arithmetic mean,
constructions of regular polyhedrons and the discovery of a regular dodecahedron,
Pythagorean musical costume (it is completely different than a comet) - harmonic intervals in music, can be represented by simple numerical relations.
