"I was born in 1910 in a wealthy Catholic family in what is now the City of Skopje. Hardly anyone knows my maiden name today. What you are looking for, however, is my religious name. It refers to St. Therese von Lisieux.
At the age of 12 I decided to live as a religious. I later went to India. On a trip through Calcutta, when I saw a crucifix, I felt the calling to help the poor. After my death I was beatified by Pope John Paul II and later by Pope Francis I canonized.
