Tinganes - the Parliaments Jetty

Already around the year 900, shortly after beginning of settlement by Vikings, a parliament was founded on the Faroe Islands. This Althing (since around 1400 named Løgting), has been working ever since with only a little break in the 19th century. This makes it one of oldest existing parliaments in the world.

Meeting point was originally the jetty "Tinganes" in Tórshavn. Mid-19th century the parliament moved to a new building a few hundred metres north. Government and administration of the Faroe Islands continue to have their seat in the old wooden buildings on Tinganes.

Today's buildings mostly originate from the 17th and 18th century. A stroll through the narrow streets of the active government district is worth its time.

Your task:

To log this virtual cache you need a password, which you can find out at the listing coordinates.

At the coordinates there's a transparent information table with a map of the district and on the left side an explanatory text in english language. The text includes three year numbers (exact years, no centuries). Append them in the same order as on the table to make one long number, that's your password.

Example: If the numbers were 1298, 900, and 1856 in this order, the password would be "12989001856".

Append photos from your visit to Tórshavn as you like, but please don't upload a photo of the table.

Note: Logging "found" requires that you have been there in person. Be honest. A photo with a personal item at the site is welcome as proof, however, it's not required. If you have problems with the passwort, please send a mail to the owner.
