Buchberg - 1563m

There are different variants to reach the summit.
There are starting points in Hinterwildalpen and Gams.
For example you can start from Gamsforst and walk through the 'Rauchgraben' to the highest point of the Buchberg. From there hike to the rock with a cross on its top (Goßkreuz) and through the 'Goßgraben' back to the starting point.

Park your car at Thaller's farm in Gamsforst:

Follow the forestry street uphill to a barrier. Rightwards you can see a small path at

First a stream leads you through the 'Rauchgraben'.
Unfortunately the route is partial sparely marked so I advice to follow the numerious small stacks of stones up to

Now take the left path eastwards until you reach an alpine hut (Saurüssler-Alm).
From here you will reach the peak soon.

The cache is hidden a few metres underneath the cross of the summit at

Now follow the path until you reach the 'Goßkreuz'. (On the way you will pass another alpine hut called 'Gögal-Alm'.)
From the cross walk through the 'Goßgraben' back to the forestry street, which leads you to the farm where you started the tour.
