Description
[ENG] The story of the Cathedral of San Donà di Piave, dedicated to Saint Mary of Grace, is a fascinating discovery. Built in 1476 by Francesco Marcello and Angelo Trevisan, it has experienced numerous historical events and changes. Nearly completely destroyed in World War I, it was later rebuilt. The interior of the Cathedral is spacious and bright, featuring impressive architecture. The altar area is decorated, surrounded by columns and pews. The nave is covered with high arches leading to a vaulted ceiling. The lighting and warm wall colors create a welcoming and spiritual atmosphere. The harmonious interior conveys a sense of calm and majesty. Today, it houses artworks, including mosaics by Marko Ivan Rupnik and a large bronze cross, making it a historic and exploratory site.
