Herbert und Fridolin

Once upon a time, on the east coast of the peninsula of Istria/Kroatia, lived Herbert and Fridolin. Herbert was a small, green Rabac, which is croatian and means: Small bird. He lived in the forest above the croatian coastline in a nice hiding place with a good view of the village. When the women from the village went up to the small stream in the forest to wash the clothes, he would fly down and sit on the branches of the trees to watch them. His best fried was called Fridolin, the blind butterfly. Fridolin always flew along on Herberts back, because he couldn't see anything. This way, a wonderful friendship developed. Together, they often flew to the fountain, where they could drink nice and cool water from it. They lived happily together on the croatian coast.
But now Herbert is missing, and cannot be found. Fridolin still waits in their hiding place for Herberts return. If you are lucky and visit Fridolin at his place, you might get to see him...

On this pole, on the side which is facing the path and facing away from the village, iron struts form a number of crosses. The number of crosses is D (number is between 5 and 15).
