Am Jainzen

In wolkenloser Bläue
Schwimmt heut´ der Mond,
Mein Zauberberg, der treue,
Strahlt taghell, wie besonnt.

"Drumm komm´ mein Kind, und folge
Mir nach auf seine Höh´
Es trübt nicht eine Wolke
Den Blick, so weit ich seh´.

Doch darfst Du mir nicht zagen;
Gar manches wirst Du schau´n,

The poem above is about the Jainzen - a 835m high hill near Bad Ischl. The poet of the lines above -Empress Elisabeth of Austria (called Sissi)- walked up often from the Emperors Villa -at the bottom of the Jainzen- to the summit for a sunbath. There -after own statement -she had her greatest poetic ideas.

There lead two ways up to the Jainzen. Steep serpentines on the westside and a cosier way from the east.Both lanes connected together yield a worthwhile roundway. You can start at the parking place at the end of village Jainzen. Follow the marked way to the summit. Or in the winter - a good alternative- one can start by the parking place on the beginning of the Imperial Park (Kaiserpark).. The entrance in the wintermonths is free , and so hike one trough the marvellous Park - pass the Kaiservilla up to the Marmorschlössl and further to a pavilion. Not wide behind it by a break in the fence you reach the marked way up to the Jainzen.

There would be many chests to admire...Maybe it's easier to find the Cache up there .
