WebCam - Isle Of Wight, Cowes ferry

This live webcam looks at the car ferry which croses the River Medina in Cowes on the lovely Isle Of Wight. 
The webcam is of great use to the local people and tourists too who can log on and see where the ferry is before driving to board it saving lots of time that would otherwise be wasted waiting in a que. The River Medina is the main river of the Isle of Wight, which rises at St Catherine's Down near Blackgang and Chale, and flows through the capital Newport, towards the Solent at Cowes. 
Although there is a bridge over the river at Newport, Cowes is connected to East Cowes by a chain ferry known as the Cowes Floating Bridge, and was first established in 1859. The Cowes floating bridge is the only way to cross the River Medina between the towns without taking a ten-mile trip via Newport. Being able to view the ferry webcam from a mobile device or computer is very useful to those needing to cross as they can tell if the ferry is running in bad weather and also get an idea of the waiting time in order to decide if its better to make the journey to the Newport bridge rather than wait for the ferry.
