SSVC: York

I got off the ferry in Hull sometime after 7am this morning. It's the last day of my holidays. I decided to stop in York for a couple of hours exploring before continuing north.

I was on a 10-days road trip from the West of Scotland, my chosen route via the Hull to Rotterdam ferry, then taking in some webcam caches and some other special ones on my way to Munich. There I completed the "In 80 Tagen..." series which I started last year. It consisted off 83 caches. We found 43 on an extended weekend last year, and the other 38 of the 81 caches over and extended weekend this November. It was fantastic when we then reached the pre-bonus cache and ultimately the Grand Finale.

I also managed to attend the GIFF Mega Event that weekend.

Auf dem Rückweg von der Isle of Man hatte ich genug Zeit um hier vorbei zu schauen.
Nach dem üblichen Wirrwarr in der städtischen Anfahrt zeigte sich dann doch noch die Kathedrale. Hier habe ich allerdings keinen Drive-in drauß gemacht, sondern bin artig die letzten 100 Meter gegangen. Dabei konnte ich auch das Ausmaß erahnen. Für mehr reichte es leider nicht, da ich ein bepacktes Moped nicht gerne lange alleine lasse.

Bei unserem Bummel durch York haben wir nach der Uhr Ausschau gehalten und sie auch tatsächlich gefunden 😊

Visiting England and Scotland because of the John Barrowman concert tour. I went to concerts in Cardiff (May 30th), Brighton (May 31st), Edinburgh (June 2nd) and Glasgow (June 4th). I first flew to London on May 29th with a friend of mine who accompanied me for the first days of the trip and took a train to Liverpool, where she was supposed to attend a Maroon 5 concert, which was eventually cancelled. Then we took a train to Cardiff for the first John Barrowman concert. The next morning we travelled to Birmingham, where we parted the ways, she attending a Maroon 5 concert there as that concert was not cancelled and she was still able to get a ticket, and I moved on to Brighton for the John Barrowman concert there. As I had a spare day on June 1st before the Edinburgh concert, I chose to spend it in York to visit the National Railway Museum. After the museum closed, I had plenty of time for geocaching in York. I first walked around the city on the city walls to find the city walls trail caches, and then explored the city centre. While visiting the nearby geocaching.com virtual cache GC4762 "The Stonegate Devil", I came across this town clock and took a photo of it as well. As the answer for the question is visible in my photo, I am logging this one as found too. Many thanks for the virtual cache!
