Rastoke in Slunj

Slunj is a town in the mountainous part of Central Croatia between Karlovac and Plitvice Lakes National Park. Rastoke is the historic center of this town, which is situated on the rivers Slunjčica and Korana. At Rastoke, similar natural phenomena are occurring as at the Plitvice Lakes. Rastoke is sometimes known as "the Small Lakes of Plitvice.

In 1962 Rastoke has been put under protection by the Croatian Institute for Conservation. In 1969 it was put under national monument protection due to its constructional, historic and ethnographic heritage.

If you decide to visit the location you will find breathtaking spots with waterfalls, historical buildings and a big totem pole. The latter is a leftover of Karl May's film adaption of "Der Schatz im Silbersee", which was shot here and at other places in Croatia.

The Cache:
To log this cache you have to perform two tasks.

1. Got to waypoint "Marko Skukan". There you will find a plate at one of the house walls that is dedicated to him (the plate, not the wall). In the last line you will find seven digits. Write those as one seven-digit number and you get the log password.

2. Attach to your log entry a picture of you or your GPS or one of your personal belongings, that was shot in front of one of Rastoke's points of interest. Maybe look for some waterfalls or the historical buildings.
