Cala Em Basset

Where to go?

You'll be guided to a 5 km route in the West of Mallorca and it will take you about 2 - 3 hours. Starting point is a small village called Sant Elm (San Telmo), which can be reached by a small road from Andratx in about 10 minutes.

Final destination is the beautiful bay Cala Em Basset, where pirates used to ancor in ancient times - as local people say. This wonderful place has no sand beach, but a breathtaking underwater world. So don't forget your scuba diving gear!

What is needed for your trip

Please take the following adviced list of things to bring seriously:

• Drinking water (minimum 1 Liter per person, depending on the wheather)
• A hat or something to cover your brains before it starts to boil
• Sunscreen
• Hiking boots or similar
• Optionally recommended: a towel and scuba gear (see picture!)

This multicache route takes two stages before the final cache location in the bay is identified by numbers you must retrieve from the waypoint. There's no big altitude difference to manage, kids can make it from 8 years or older. At the stone tower ("Torre") please watch your kids that they do not climb the walls, because it goes down steep on the other side! The whole tour is at your own risk!

WAYPOINT 2 - Torre

Find your own way to the next waypoint - there are a couple of different paths at different heights leading to the Torre along this beautiful coast line. Recommendation: Choose a way not to close to the coastline - it's getting steeb there and cache Terrain goes up to 4! Aim for the cache "The Wall" at the Torre instead: GC3M702

At the stone building (Torre) search your way to the next level through a small hole, using the iron stair bows. Once up, identify the number of windows with a wooden frame.

• If it is only one window with wooden frame, T=280
• If it is two windows with wooden frame, T=285
• If it is more than two windows, T=290

Final coords:

It leads you onto a bigger rock in the bay. Climb on it and look into all directions. Where would you hide a cache? YES, it's exactly there!

For the way back head via Geocache "LAIKA" (GC3M84H) to your starting point at Sant Elm. You'll need about 35 minutes back to the starting point to refresh yourself at restaurant Es Moli.
